Heir

Heir

Based in Leeds but with a universal sound, Heir are wrapping up an exciting year with the release of brand new single, ‘Scrapped Paper’ (video below).  Built upon layers of four part vocals, tight rhythms, and climactic hooks, Heir’s new single is a heartfelt masterstroke of energetic pop music. It’s a shining example of both the band’s sound and talents, and a promising release that will surely champion an incredible 2016.

Alongside the track comes an energetic music video, written and co-directed by the band themselves ‘Scrapped Paper’ is tied together with unapologetic hooks and raw energy. The five piece of Tom Hammond, Sam Luca, Harry Vernon, Ste Fisher, Samuel Newham have always prided themselves on their honest and organic take on modern pop music; “ We want to tell good stories. Stories that people can connect with and can also easily sing along to”, explains Sam Luca, keyboard player and one of four songwriters in the band. “As individuals we all have pretty different musical backgrounds and we hope that it shows in our arrangements. It’s been nice, personally, to hear those different elements combine into a sound that we’re now all passionate about.”

Event

The event I will be working on is an intimate, stripped back set in anticipation for their E.P Launch in March. The event is on the 16th February 2016 at Headrow House for, 'an evening with...Heir'.

After blowing the crowd away at a sell-out gig in Leeds at the end of March, the band have since toured the country supporting Karima Francis’ new band FIRES. Francis described the quintet as ‘great musicians’ with ‘great songs’ and ‘great harmonies’. Receiving plenty more of this positive feedback after the release of their first single ‘All Comes Down’, Heir clearly have the wind in their sails. With a debut EP releasing March 2016, multiple gigs up and down the country, as well as a debut album in the pipeline, there is no stopping their claim to become one of the country’s most exciting young pop bands.

Members: Tom Hammond, Sam Luca, Harry Vernon, Ste Fisher, & Samuel Newham

Music Videos

The genre of music they play would be classed as Pop. Overall, I am really looking forward to the opportunity to work with a great band, with talent and great potential as well as collaborating with music students from Leeds College of Music.
